Schisandra

This ‘beauty berry’ of the Orient was used by ancient Chinese royalty to preserve youthfulness, enhance physical radiance, boost sexual desire and as a potent reproductive tonic. SuperFeast's carefully dual-extracted schisandra is sourced Di Dao from China's Changbai Mountains.

A top Taoist herb, schisandra harmonises the flow of qi through the five major systems, especially the kidneys and liver. It helps balance the nervous system, improve brain function, elevate immunity, and supports overall bodily harmony to maintain youthfulness.

Traditionally, taking schisandra for 100 days is said to purify the blood, sharpen the mind, optimise memory, rejuvenate kidney essence (jing), and support reproductive function. It also supports lung qi and may help harmonise lung function.

Known as wu wei zi or “five taste fruit,” schisandra contains salty, sweet, sour, bitter, and pungent flavours - each linked to a major body system. This allows it to influence the liver, lungs, kidneys, heart, and spleen, regulating the whole system and protecting the Three Treasures: Jing, Qi, and Shen.

Schisandra is valued for regenerating water qi in the kidneys, building primary essence, and rejuvenating sexual fluids. It is ideal for aging with grace and radiating inner beauty.

Traditionally used in Chinese medicine to:

• Support healthy stress response in the body
• Relieve weariness, tiredness, fatigue, and feelings of weakness
• Enrich, nourish, tonify, fortify, and strengthen kidneys
